Our region is a destination for day trippers looking for a great place to spend a summer afternoon, families wanting a wide-open space for their kids to be free, or sportsmen in pursuit of recreation. The Harvest Sky Region is truly a place where anyone can find respite from their day-to-day lives and spend quality time in nature. There’s so much to see and do, one visit is never enough. From exploring our towns to adventuring on our lakes and rivers, you’ll find something for everyone.
Located in central Alberta, our region is easy to visit, no matter where you’re coming from. Choose your adventure, hop in the car, and come soak up the sun, make new discoveries, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Urban Adventures
You’ll find all the products and services you need as well as unique tourist experiences in Hanna and Youngstown. Both towns have a rich cultural and historic heritage to explore. Visit Youngstown to enjoy the community centre, library, curling rink, skating rink, baseball diamonds, and RV park. The Jock MacKinnon Memorial Recreation Centre offers three sheets of curling ice while the skating rink is natural ice. We also have rich and diverse cultural amenities such as the Back In Time Museum.
Hanna’s Pioneer Village and Museum will take you back in time so you can learn about the history of our region. There are numerous walking trails, parks and playgrounds, and a seasonal farmers’ market to enjoy. If you visit in the winter, you can enjoy sledding and skiing in town, or visit nearby Fox Lake to roast hotdogs over an open fire. In addition, the Town puts on numerous events in all seasons. Rural Adventures
The Harvest Sky Region is a haven for those who love the outdoors. We’re home to countless lakes, forests, trails, campgrounds, and wide open spaces.
Spend your days boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, and more on the water. Hike trails or explore the vast prairies, which are ideal for stargazing at night. You’ll find abundant wildlife and, for those who are interested, excellent hunting and fishing.
Our region is known to be home to a wide variety of bird species, making it exciting for birdwatchers. You’re likely to spot boreal chickadees, hummingbirds, and song sparrows and you just might see bald eagles and burrowing owls, among other species.

Hanna Golf and Country Club
A hidden gem set in a prairie landscape. This 18 hole course was professionally designed by Les Furber of GDS and offers a fully licensed clubhouse and stocked proshop.

Hanna Pioneer Village and Museum
A walk through the Hanna Pioneer Village and Museum is like stepping into the past. Their full block of historical buildings are filled with realistic antique displays and turn of the century artifacts that are a must for travellers.
Fox Lake
Fox Lake Park has fun for everyone including a campground, playground, bird watching, and geo-caching.
Prairie Oasis Park
Enjoy the warm waters and sandy beaches at Prairie Oasis Park. Ideal for water sports, this well-developed recreation area and campground offers visitors a fun-filled, relaxing holiday.
Hanna Roundhouse
The Hanna Roundhouse is an iconic piece of historic railway infrastructure. The roundhouse was used as a railway servicing and storage building, was built in 1913 along the Canadian National Railway.
